It used to be assumed in the machine tool industry that an importer had a staff of engineers to provide applications expertise to their customers. Rem Sales History

Robert E Morris, founder of the Robert E. Morris Company, established what is now Rem Sales in 1957. Initially, Rem Sales was a national sales organization for Nichols "rise and fall" milling machines and was called Nichols-Morris Corporation at the time of its inception. In 1960, Nichols-Morris changed its name to Rem Sales Incorporated when Mr. Morris began representing T.S. Harrison lathes across the U.S. In 1978, the company became the exclusive North American importer of Tsugami machine tools, and that's when Rem Sales enhanced its own mission and identity as a recognizable brand and organization in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Tsugami Corporation

Rem Sales began distributing several Tsugami machine tool lines in 1978. Tsugami is an extraordinary company which began in 1923 as a gauge block manufacturer, the basis of all geometric measurement. Its roots are precision, and that's still the foundation for Tsugami's manufacturing technology today. Its machines are known throughout the world for their machining and positioning accuracy, exacting construction techniques, flexible designs, speed, and reliability. Tsugami is currently one of the premier brands of Swiss automatic lathes in North America, led by robust sales of its modular SS and BE platforms.
